“The teacher training was a wonderful experience. The program that Richelle designed is deeply rooted in her respect for alignment and protecting her students bodes to they can experience a lifelong practice. I graduated inspired with an excellent foundation of hands-on teaching in the classroom, clear cues for postures and a newfound respect for the individuality of each students practice.”

Yoga off the Mat

We believe in the art of giving back and our Tulum based teacher training immersion students bring the act of 'seva' or selfless giving into the practice and teachings through work with Help Tulum Dogs. We will bring this same concept into all of our destination training immersions by working with a local charity to raise money to support their cause.

Our Sayulita immersion will bring us into contact with Sayulita Animalitos, a local non-profit working to help dogs and cats in need in Sayulita, Mexico.

We require you to have some previous yoga experience and to be in a healthy condition with an open mind and heart.

Yoga is not about how flexible or un-flexible you are. Yoga is about self-discovery and reconnecting. Opening up is all a part of the journey. And teaching from where you are actually makes you a stronger teacher.

This course and program is a labor of dedication and love. We hope your experience is filled with insight, self-discovery and growth and so much more! You’ll experience and explore the physical side of the practice which is guaranteed to leave you feeling invigorated! To balance this out, we’ll explore the spiritual side of the practice and yoga off the mat.

What you give, you get back. We hope that you will come prepared to be engaged and inspired. That you will open your mind and hearts to this journey and respect the rest and dedication this journey requires. In the end, it's your journey... but we hope that you come prepared to commit to the intensive and all that it entails and some of the rules (ie: cel phones off during training) that are implemented.

*space is limited to 12 - 14 students

Sayulita is a charming little beach and surf town 25 miles north of Puerto Vallarta along the Riviera Nayarit, a 200-mile stretch of the Pacific Coastline in Mexico. This small town is known for its relaxed bohemian vibe, a rich Huichol artisan culture and a town square that is totally walkable.

Explore town by foot or rent a golf cart for even more fun! You'll find plenty of options for dinners out from taco stands to cafes and restaurants featuring local and regional produce and tastes. Paletas (artisanal popsicles), churros (deep fried treat) and homemade blue corn tortillas are just a few of the delicious local foods you'll have the opportunity to taste.

Please book your flight to Puerto Vallarta Airport (PVR).

Flights arrive daily from all over the world and there are tons of great options out there for securing affordable flights.
If your departure city does not show direct flights, we recommend checking flights to Mexico City and then booking national airlines for flights to Puerto Vallarta.
Interject, Volaris & AeroMexico

Sayulita is located 40 minutes by car from the airport.

You can book private transportation, take a bus or hop in a taxi to arrive to Sayulita. As we get closer to the immersion start date, we will connect students with each other and Villas Sayulita to organize booking of private van as an option.

PLEASE NOTE: Entrance to Mexico requires a valid passport! So please make sure your passport is valid with an expiry date no greater then 6 months after arrival date for your retreat.

Sayulita is a casual beach town and comfort is name of the game. Light and airy fabrics are best. Dry wicking yoga clothes are a life saver. And because we will be travelling in January, we recommend warmer clothes for the evening. Sweaters, cozy wrap, long pants, etc., as the temperatures can drop down in the evenings during this time.

*sunglasses, sun hat, flip flops and beach wear
*yoga clothes
*regular clothes for dinners out, exploring town
*wraps or comfy clothing for cooler nights
*biodegradable sunscreen and insect repellant
*pens, pencils, highlighters
*ipad or similar (not required but will be handy for studies)

*we usually like to travel in comfy runners that we can then use when exploring town
*pack extra underbelongs... these we find we never have enough of when we go from yoga to breakfast to yoga to afternoons out, etc...
