WHAT TO PACK:
Both destinations are casual beach towns and comfort is name of the game. Light and airy fabrics are best. Dry wicking yoga clothes are a life saver. And because we will be travelling in January, we recommend warmer clothes for the evening. Sweaters, cozy wrap, long pants, etc., as the temperatures can drop down in the evenings during this time.
Retreat essentials packing list:
*sunglasses, sun hat, flip flops and beach wear
*regular clothes for dinners out, exploring town
*wraps or comfy clothing for cooler nights
*biodegradable sunscreen and insect repellant
*books & journals for down time
SOULCATION TRAVEL TIPS:
*we usually like to travel in comfy runners that we can then use when exploring, biking or climbing ruins
*pack extra underbelongs... these we find we never have enough of when we go from yoga to breakfast to the beach back to yoga, etc...
* we usually recommend that travelers bring their own yoga mat or a travel yoga mat and whatever props they normally use.
We hope to make your retreat an amazing experience! If you don't see any of your concerns answered below, please drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out the form at the bottom of the page.
Who is this retreat open to?
We believe that yoga belongs to everyone and that holds true for our retreats. Every body and every body is welcome!
What if I'm a beginner or don't have a regular practice?
Retreats are the perfect way to immerse yourself in the practice and deepen wherever you're at within your practice. Our guides have loads of experience teaching to all levels and making sure that everyone feels taken care of.
Is our destination safe?
Most definitely! As with any new place and when traveling, keep items close to you and don't accept drinks from strangers.
Should I bring pesos or use usd dollars?
USD dollars are accepted but you'll find you're better off bringing Mexican pesos to spend. We recommend that you buy pesos before your arrival as bank machines in both San Francisco and Sayulita are very limited and come with a high usage fee.
Can I stay extra days or come earlier?
Please message us to see if there is 'room at the inn'. If not, we can help you find another place to stay.
*We will be offering a 2 day extension to explore Puerto Vallarta with Richelle if you are interested. Please make note of this on your registration form.
What should I budget for additional meals?
This all depends on how fancy you like to eat. There are great options in Sayulita to chose from that are budget friendly. Additional each room is equipped with a kitchenette making buying fresh foods available to you.
Can you find me a roommate?
If you are looking to save on costs and want to share a room, please message us to see how we can help. We will try to pair you with another traveller looking for the same, but this is not a guarentee.
YOGA TEACHER | SOL TO SOUL YOGA RETREAT LEADER
My journey started over 15 years ago as a personal trainer. The shift into teaching and practicing yoga came at a time when the stress of running my business had wreaked havoc on my body, mind and spirit. Yoga played a starring role in healing my body and helping to manage an auto-immune disorder. It also led me to the beaches of Tulum where I hosted my first yoga retreat in 2010.
This was a life-changing experience. Two years and three yoga retreat later, I made the decision to pack up my life in Canada and drive via motor home to Tulum with my cat and dog as co-pilots.
Finding your passion, filling your soul with things beyond the material items in life, delving into the heart of what makes you unique, playing outside comfort zones... this is what 'soul sessions' are all about. Taking the time to really feed your soul what it needs to grow and flourish and feel fulfilled is what we'll dive into on this #soulcation retreat. And I can't wait to share this experience with you!
Sweet and spicy. Alignment based and inspired by my work with bodies over the past 15+ years. Yoga beyond the postures so that you discover how your body moves and how that transcends beyond the mat.
