My journey started over 15 years ago as a personal trainer. Movement had always been a part of my life and the transition into yoga was a natural and much needed one. The shift into teaching and practicing yoga came at a time when the stress of running my business had wreaked havoc on my body, mind and spirit. Yoga played a starring role in healing my body and helping to manage an auto-immune disorder. It also led me to the beaches of Tulum where I hosted my first yoga retreat in 2010.
This was a life-changing experience that set the wheels of change in motion. Two years and three yoga retreat later, I made the decision to pack up my life in Canada and drive via motor home to Tulum with my cat and dog as co-pilots. What was meant to be a short stay morphed into 2 years. My adventures in Tulum have led to the opening Yoga Dicha Studio, the launch of my yoga inspired {dee-cha} apparel line, private & group tour company called Jungle Ja Tours and the adoption of one more fur babies.
My yoga off the mat
I'm a HUGE animal lover so it was a natural transition to take my yoga off the mat and into the world of animal welfare in Tulum. I am proud to be one of the key members of Help Tulum Dogs, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals in Tulum.
My style
My style of teaching is based on the Aligned Flow Method and Foundation. Strong, playful and mindful with attention to alignment and deep connection to the heart. Be prepared to sweat, explore, and laugh.
"I believe we all have a warrior that lives inside us. It’s that space where dreams and passions lie. Where we find strength when life gets messy and love when we find something or somebody that makes our heart skip a beat. My job as a teacher is to tap into that space. To help my clients explore what they’re capable of and build the strength they need to weather the storms life throws at them. And then balance it out with play and laughter and joy."
